Our coalition is youth-focused and community-driven, and we wanted a logo that reflected this. So in October 2017, we opened up a contest for 6th through 12th grade students in Houghton County to create a new logo for our CTC. The goal was not just to find a new logo, but to celebrate the artistic skills of local youth and encourage them to get involved in their community.
The contest was for a logo that embraces Houghton/Keweenaw Communities That Care’s vision: “To develop a supportive, safe, community that empowers youth through education, positive relationships, healthy beliefs and clear standards.”
We got some really great entries, and picking a winner was definitely a tough call!
Inseo won a $50 pre-paid Visa gift card for her winning entry. Since then, she has supported the coalition by helping out at a number of CTC events.
Finlandia University's Professor Adolphs from the Graphic Design Department worked with Inseo to finalize her design for professional use.
