Houghton/Keweenaw Communities That Care (HKCTC) is holding our third annual Family Fun Fair, the first since 2019!
In collaboration with May Mental Health Awareness Month, we're hosting this event to promote wellness, connection, and uplifting the community. It will be a time where the community can come together for family fun and learn what resources, businesses, and other organizations our home has to offer. There will also be bounce houses, games, activities, face painting, music, food & beverages! Free to all!
Local businesses and organizations will be participating in this event to promote what resources or services they have in the community, as well as an activity, game, or toy for kids to enjoy.
Join us in the fun on May 20th, at the Calumet Colosseum!
This event is substance free.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Houghton/Keweenaw Communities That Care (HKCTC) is partnering with Dial Help to host a community drive. The goal of the drive is to collect supplies to support local youth and families. Drop boxes are available at Dial Help’s office in downtown Houghton and other locations.
The drive is specifically seeking fidget toys for the Child Advocacy Center, which
serves child victims of abuse. Family Support is looking for hygiene items for low-income families, like shampoo/conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes/toothpaste, soap, feminine products, socks, and underwear; and books for kids and teens.
Please only donate items new in the package, or new/like-new books. Besides the Dial Help office, donations can be dropped off at KC Bonkers, Hancock police station, and students can bring donations to Houghton Middle School and Dollar Bay Schools.
You can also donate cash to purchase these items through Portage Health Foundation -- just mark the funds for the Community Drive. A Paypal link is available at www.dialhelp.org.

Guiding Good Choices (GGC) is a free family class for anyone who interacts with middle schoolers. It provides the skills to reduce youth's risk for using alcohol/other drugs.
The class is six sessions of two hours each week. Children are required to attend one session that teaches peer resistance skills. The other sessions are solely for parents and include instruction on:
